We invite you to the workshop City 2030 which is organized within the Urban Futures project: Imagining and Activating Possibilities in Unsettled Times (HRZZ – ARRS) and the exhibition Look to the Future: City 2030 (Faculty of Social Sciences an Humanities) and will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Hall (Library, 2nd floor) of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Zagreb.
In what ways and how much do we think about the future – about our own future and the future of the city in which live, study or work? What will everyday life in the City look like in 2030? Will public spaces be used and in what ways? In what ways is it possible to develop citizen participation?
We will approach these questions using the method of lateral thinking, which opens up new, creative and unusual solutions needed for broad and visionary imagining of (urban) futures.
The workshop will take place in small groups with motivated and active participants and no prior preparation is required. The aim of the workshop is to stimulate reflection on the city as a place of collective life and to develop future literacy.
The workshop is led by prof. dr. Valentina Gulin Zrnić (Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies, Zagreb) and asst. prof. dr. Saša Poljak Istenič (ZRC SAZU, Ljubljana), heads of the Urban Futures project.
Due to the limited number of participants, registration for the workshop is mandatory.
Applications (name, surname, study group and faculty) should be sent to email@example.com by Saturday, January 14, 2023.
