Attendance at Tim Ingold’s Keynote Lecture at a Conference in Ljubljana

Tihana Rubić and Mirna Tkalčić Simetić attended the online keynote lecture delivered by Tim Ingold on 12 December 2025, held as part of the international conference Inhabiting Wounded Landscapes and Environments: Interdisciplinary and Sensorial Explorations, organised by the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.

In his lecture, Ingold devoted particular attention to his understanding of the relationship between tradition and heritage, as well as to the specific interrelations of different modalities of temporality embedded within these concepts. He also problematised the distinction between hope and optimism and reflected on the possibilities and challenges of living in the Anthropocene. One of his key conclusions emphasised the importance of opening up spaces for sustainability, grounded in responsibility and care for the environments we inhabit, noting that a world without possibilities is a world without a future.
