Doctoral Dissertation Defence

On January 20, 2026, Mirna Tkalčić Simetić, a member of the project What Cities Do We Want? Contemporary Transformations of Urban Visions, Practices, and Ethics, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled Post-Earthquake Cities: Zagreb and Petrinja from the Perspective of the Anthropology of the Future. The defence took place in the Ceremonial Hall of the University of Zadar before an academic committee consisting of Assoc. Prof. Tihana Rubić, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Saša Poljak Istenič, PhD, and Nina Vodopivec, PhD, Research Associate. Following the defence, together with the committee members, her supervisor Prof. Valentina Gulin Zrnić, PhD, and her co-supervisor Assoc. Prof. Mario Katić, PhD, she was invited to a formal reception hosted by the Vice-Rector of the University of Zadar, Prof. Zvjezdan Penezić, PhD.
